The "Living Fit" group of  North Bay, under the leadership of Harriet Madigan, recently presented $810.00 to Sandy Foster to help with the work the Hope2Kenya team is doing this year. This group of wonderful women holds a silent auction amongst their members and they divide the funds they raise between four charities, and our team was fortunate enough to receive funds this year.  Hope2Kenya has received support from this group before. This group also helps with knitting projects and collecting items that can be taken and distributed to the children is Kenya.

Thanks to these women for their ongoing support.

On February 6th, 2010, Steven Hepburn and Sandy Foster sold Kenyan Doughnuts at the International Food Fair held at Nipissing University in North Bay, ON.  Funds raised went to help an African student attend the University.  It was also a chance for the community to see what the Hope2Kenya team is doing.

Barbara Laplante, Treasurer of the Manitou chapter of  I.O.D.E., recently presented Sandy with a cheque to go towards the equipping of an orphanage that Hope2Kenya is building for Kenyan orphans with HIV/AIDS.  A huge thank you to all the women of this chapter

for caring about the orphans in Kenya.

Dr. Noreen Yates of  "Inside Out Chiropractic" recently presented a cheque to Sandy Foster for  Hope2Kenya.

Dr. Yates and her partner Dr. Mark Swain challenged their patients, before Christmas, to donate to an international organization (Hope2Kenya).  The doctors would in turn match the donation and give it locally to the North Bay Santa Fund. Hope2Kenya received $304.00 and that amount was also donated to the Santa Fund.  A wonderful way of helping children locally and internationally.  Thanks to Inside Out Chiropractic for a great fundraiser.

Sally Kidson of Southampton, Sandy Foster of Callander and Marg Melville of Belleville ran the Mississauga Marathon on May 15th, 2011. The weather was windy, cool and rainy but they persevered and raised $7600.00 between the threee of them to build a primary school in a remote village of Kenya called Kakamega. The school will be built in the Kasavai community where the children now attend school in a church and tent. This school will be a wonderful addition to the community providing education for all children.

Hope2Kenya Team Leader Sandy Foster received 100 comfort dolls today. Jean Rayburn

and Joan Arthur are members of the North Bay YMCA and presented the completed

dolls to Sandy. Joan had made some last year for Sandy’s team to take with them

and this year she and Jean decided to make 100. These dolls will go to children in Kenya,

many who have never owned a toy of their own. They will bring smiles of delight

when they are handed out in September, when the team is next in Kenya.
Many thanks to Jean and Joan for caring and bringing hope to the children of Kenya.
